Lions triumph in Northampton

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

A champion performance from Leicestershire’s James Taylor has handed the England Lions victory in their third tour match against Sir Lanka A, today. The result is especially important for the Lions, given that the side were trounced in their previous match with Sri Lanka A, at the weekend, losing by a 10-wicket margin.

The Lions began the one-day international series with a huge win over the visitors, at the end of last week. The youngster, Taylor, scored his first century as England captain in the game, from just under 120 balls. The Lions eventually put 310 up the Sri Lankans, with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow contributing a half-ton each.

However, overconfidence, complacency, or just plain bad luck saw the Lions sink to a humiliating defeat in the second match at New Road, Worchester. Sri Lankan bowler, Seekkuge Prasanna, overwhelmed the England batsmen with a career-defining performance. The Lions lost five wickets in ten overs, before succumbing to defeat with 196 balls left to play. Those following the cricket betting tips would have been surprised by the size of the defeat.

Despite being soundly beaten, Lions all-rounder, Chris Woakes, was convinced that the squad could ‘turn the tide’ in the final match, and claim the tour series for the home team. Woakes’ confidence was rewarded, at Wantage Road, today, when Taylor claimed his second 100 in three games, to topple Sri Lanka A. Anyone following the Michael Vaughan cricket betting tips will be keeping an eye on Taylor’s progress.

The visitors won the toss, and put England in to bat. The Lions claimed 282 for 9 wickets, including 73 from Ben Stokes and 29 from James Harris. Sri Lanka’s innings was rather more sedate; three players were taken for ducks, as the South Asian team tried and failed to match England’s tally. Sri Lanka were all-out for 147, after just 29 overs.

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

Party Casino is a part of the industry-leading PartyGaming “umbrella brand” that also runs the immensely popular Party Poker, and more recent additions in the Bingo, Backgammon, Sports-betting and even financial trading arenas. PartyGaming has been in business since 1997, is licensed and regulated by the government of Alderney, and is traded on the London stock exchange (symbol PRTY.L). In short, it is one of the most professionally managed, transparent and solid businesses in the online gambling industry today. Furthermore, PartyGaming has been recognised multiple times by respected industry panels. For example it recently won the ‘Operator of the Year’ and ‘Socially Responsible Operator’ awards at the 2008 eGaming Review Awards.

Party Casino is owned by Party Poker. To ensure that its customers are given a fair deal the software is regularly inspected and certified by Technical Systems Testing. PartyCasino offers a number of blackjack variants that will be loved by blackjack players. The standard version is obviously on offer. This is played under the following rules: blackjack pays at 3:2, insurance pays at 2:1, dealer must hit on soft 17, player can double on any two cards, 1 card will be dealt on split aces. The other variants include Face-up 21, Match Play 21, Pontoon and Super 21. Face-up 21 is so called because both the dealer’s cards are dealt face up. Other notable rules include dealer must hit soft 17, player blackjack pays even money, player wins blackjack ties, dealer wins all other ties and the player can double only on a total of 9, 10 or 11.

One of the most useful features for blackjack players at Party Casino is the built in game history feature. This will allow the player to review every wager he has placed, with the exact time and date, the amount wagered, the outcome of the wager and the winnings. Hence blackjack players can check back and see how successful a particular strategy was and whether it is worth repeating again.
