Full Tilt Poker Vs Pokerstars set record
ByThe attempt by Full Tilt Poker to stage the biggest online poker tournament ever was a resounding success, with a massive 50 000 entrants for its $5 buy-in, $500 000 guaranteed event, generating cashes for the top 7 500 spots and a first prize of $45 000.
Pokerstars - not wanting to lose the record and their place in the Guinness Book of World Records, quickly sprang into action. Pokerstars announced that they would also be attempting to best their old record. Not only that, but they would be attempting to break their old record on the same day that Full Tilt Poker was making their attempt.
Full Tilt Poker manage to rack up 50,000 players, but their competitor, Poker Stars, smashed them by having a similar tournament and having 65,000 players playing in it.
Unfortunately for Full Tilt - PokerStars still holds the record.

PokerStars goes straight into the Guinness World Record books, as it smashed the previous figure of 35,000 players.
It should be interesting to see if Full Tilt Poker attempts to break the record again.
